If you’re always chasing the next goal — and never feel like it’s enough — perfectionism might be fuelling your anxiety.
Perfectionism Sounds Like:
“I’ll feel better once this is done perfectly.”
“If I make a mistake, I’ll be judged.”
“Good isn’t enough — it has to be flawless.”
It feels like high standards. But underneath, it’s fear of failure, rejection, or not being enough.
How Perfectionism Triggers Anxiety
Overworking and never feeling finished
Procrastination due to fear of doing it wrong
Panic when you feel out of control
The CBT Reframe
Spot the thought: “If it’s not perfect, it’s not good.”
Ask: What’s the cost of believing this?
Reframe: “Done is better than perfect. Progress matters more than perfection.”
